Surge Accelerates Fiber Optic Network Development Along PT Kereta Api Indonesia's Railway Lines

PT Solusi Sinergi Digital Tbk (WIFI) or Surge is currently expediting the construction of a fiber optic network along the railway lines owned by PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero). This development aims to not only serve various local telecommunications and internet businesses along the railway, but also to provide higher-quality, affordable, and high-capacity internet services to communities and micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) along the Java Island route. The fiber optic network to be built will span a total of 2,800 kilometers.

Surge has divided the fiber optic installation into five phases, focusing on the Java Island route. Phase 1, totaling 255.5 kilometers, includes Manggarai – Bogor and Manggarai – Cikarang in the DKI Jakarta area. Next,

Phase 2, covering a distance of 153.34 kilometers, includes the Cikarang – Bandung route.

Phase 3, spanning 742 kilometers, covers the Cikampek – Semarang – Surabaya and Merak – Rangkas Bitung routes.

Phase 4, encompassing 698 kilometers, includes the Bogor – Sukabumi – Bandung – Yogyakarta and Cirebon – Cilacap routes.

Phase 5, extending for a total of 885 kilometers, includes the Yogyakarta – Surabaya – Solo – Surabaya – Malang and Surabaya – Banyuwangi routes.

Among these phases, Surge has been entrusted with the construction of Phase 5, which covers the eastern part of Java Island for over 400 kilometers. Effective project management and monitoring are crucial factors for the success of this project.
